The Austin Police Department was called to the intersection of Hillview Road and Greenlee Drive around 8:30 a.m. on August 8 following reports of the incident.

The response to the crash was a joint effort, including units from Austin-Travis County EMS and the Austin Fire Department, the latter, unfortunately, declared Baker dead at the scene, while emergency services transported the other injured party to Dell Seton Medical Center with serious injuries, as reported by KVUE.
