An investigation has been launched into the death of a woman whose body was discovered in an alley in Aliquippa, following a report of shots fired Friday night. According to WPXI, the Aliquippa police received at least one call concerning gunshots around 10 p.m., but no evidence was found at the time. The situation escalated early Saturday when, someone called the authorities to report finding the body of a young woman, who was later identified as 20-year-old Treonna Washington.

Doorbell camera footage captured a single gunshot sound just before 10 p.m. Friday in the Plan12 neighborhood, followed by the sighting of a motorcycle driving by. As reported by CBS News, additional reports of shots being fired were received, with some witnesses alleging a vehicle drove off shortly afterward. Even though the police were alerted, the circumstances at that time did not reveal any immediate threats or findings.

Washington was found deceased by a man walking his dog near a set of stairs off Reed Street, behind homes on the 1200 block of Wade Street. The discovery took place in the same area where, the reports of gunshots were made the previous evening, although it is unclear if the incidents are connected. The victim was shot in the head, and an autopsy has been completed, though no arrests have been made so far.

The Pennsylvania State Police have been canvassing the area in the aftermath, knocking on doors and requesting surveillance video to piece together events leading up to Washington's death.
