Tragedy struck an Orange County community Friday morning when a man was discovered shot at Lake Underhill Plaza, succumbing to his injuries after being transported to a local hospital. The Orange County Sheriff's Office reported, as per WFTV that the incident took place around 9 a.m. near Lake Underhill Road and S. Goldenrod Road. The victim, later identified as 48-year-old Steve Torruella Rodriguez, was found shot and in critical condition, but despite medical efforts, he later passed away from the injuries sustained.

After the shooting and the unfolding investigation, 49-year-old Pablo Rafael Lantigua Cabral was detained and charged with second-degree murder with a firearm, in a report confirmed by deputies.

There has been no additional information released concerning possible motives or the relationship, if any, between the suspect and the victim. However, it should be noted, "All other parties remained on scene," an excerpt released to the media according to FOX 35 Orlando indicated that the situation was quickly contained by authorities.
