Last week, law enforcement officials executed a traffic stop that led to the arrest of two convicted felons, Jennifer Fontenot and Dominick Mazzarela, who were traveling together on the North Grand Parkway West. The stop, which occurred on Thursday, uncovered both firearms and drugs, striking another chord in the ongoing battle against illegal substance distribution and firearm violations, as detailed by Constable Mark Herman's Office.
Fontenot was behind the wheel of the first vehicle and deputies discovered that she was carrying 4.2 grams of Adderall and a loaded firearm, this is despite her status as a convicted felon, which forbids her from possessing firearms under current laws. Mazzarela, driving the second vehicle, had an active Parole Violation Warrant for his involvement in the intent to distribute controlled substances.
The official Facebook page of Constable Mark Herman's Office detailed the charges placed against the suspects, noting Jennifer Fontenot's charges; "Both suspects were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail. "Jennifer Fontenot was charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Possession of Controlled Substance. Her bond was set at $2,000.00 out of the 185th District Court. Dominick Mazzarela was arrested for the open warrant. His bond has not been set at this time out of the 174th District Court," according to the statement released by the Constable's Office.
