A cyclist on San Antonio's Far West Side was seriously injured after an incident with a vehicle on Saturday night. According to a KSAT report, the accident occurred around 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Culebra Road and Loop 1604 access road. The San Antonio Police Department stated that the driver was heading west on Culebra Road when they struck the bicyclist, who was riding north on the Loop 1604 access road.
The police further elaborated that the driver, who had a green light, "did not see the bicyclist in the intersection." The driver is not facing charges and remained at the scene to provide assistance to the injured party, as per KSAT. The cyclist was taken to a local hospital with injuries described as life-threatening. Despite the severity of the incident, there was no immediate word on the current condition of the cyclist as of the last reports.
Complementing details from a separate Express-News article indicated that the collision happened as the vehicle was traveling westbound on Culebra Road, and the driver reportedly had a green light when entering the intersection.
