Aspiring firefighters in the Denton area will soon have the chance to get a rare peek into the world of emergency response and fire service. The Denton Fire Department has announced that it will be hosting another Fire Explorers Open House. The event is scheduled to run from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, August 12th, at the Denton Fire Training Facility and is open to youth aged 14-20.
It's an opportunity for teens and young adults to not only observe but also actively participate in some of the foundational tasks of firefighting. According to the Denton Fire Department, attendees can expect to engage firsthand with various firefighting tools and techniques under the guidance of experienced professionals.
The Denton Fire Department is encouraging interested individuals to take advantage of this event, emphasizing that it's a stepping stone to "Come join us!" for those who envision a future amidst the ranks of Denton's bravest. The Fire Explorers program also serves as an entry point into the LaGrone Academy, which partners with the ATC City of Denton, TX - City Hall, and Denton Fire Fighter's Association Local 1291 to provide education and training for upcoming fire service professionals.
