The United States Tennis Association (USTA) has recently lauded the Denton Tennis and Pickleball Center with an Outstanding Facility Award, confirming the center is among the nation's exemplary spots for tennis and pickleball. In a field of 41 recognized facilities, the USTA's 2024 Outstanding Facility Awards program casts a spotlight on those who have excelled in constructing and renovating tennis venues.
The City of Denton details how the local hub offers 12 lighted tennis courts and eight lighted pickleball courts, along with a suite of programs and lessons designed to suit all age groups. An undeniable draw for both casual and serious players, the center is equal parts a sports venue as it is a communal space.
According to a statement by Gary Packan, Director of Parks and Recreation, as per the City of Denton, "This recognition is a testament to our commitment to provide top-tier recreational facilities for our community". He added, "The Denton Tennis and Pickleball Center exemplifies our mission to bring people together, foster personal growth through sport, and provide a space for everyone to play."
In the USTA's selection process, several criteria are to be closely considered, including but not limited to court surface quality, court layout, lighting, and maintenance ease. The Denton Center has notably distinguished itself through its aesthetics, signage, and active participation in grassroots tennis programs, which have all contributed to earning this national accolade.
