A tragic incident occurred in Ellicott City when a tree fell onto a moving vehicle, resulting in the death of the driver. The accident took place at around 5:35 p.m. on Aug. 11, as the motorist was driving westbound on Baltimore National Pike, just beyond the border of Baltimore County. An adult female, who was the only person in the car, died at the scene following the incident, as reported by a Howard County police press release.
The fallen tree did not discriminate, striking a second vehicle in its terrible descent. Suffering from non-life-threatening injuries, the sole occupant of the second car, another adult female, was rushed to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
Howard County Police are currently investigating the circumstances that led to this unfortunate event.
