Heads up, Duluth residents and visitors: expect some interruptions on your commutes tomorrow. The City of Duluth has announced that it's time for some maintenance work on several streets, as a part of its regular upkeep to ensure roadways remain in good condition. A contractor will be out and about laying down chip seal, a pavement surface treatment that combines one or more layers of asphalt with one or more layers of fine aggregate. This chip-sealing process is slated for Tuesday, August 20, and Wednesday, August 21, according to a statement released by the city.

Here are the specific stretches of road to be aware of: First Avenue East from Superior Street to Third Street, and Venture Avenue are in for treatment, as confirmed by the City of Duluth.

The City of Duluth is well aware of the inconveniences that come with any construction work and wants to make sure everyone knows they're appreciated for their patience. "The City of Duluth thanks pedestrians and drivers for their patience duringthis construction season," the city communicated.
