The City of Duluth has announced a public meeting to discuss refurbishments to Junction Avenue and Saint Marie Street on Tuesday, August 20. According to a recent release from the city, the goal is to rejuvenate these roads between College Street and Carver Avenue with multiple improvements, including repaving, replacing deteriorating sidewalks and curbs, widening walkways along critical pedestrian corridors, ensuring ADA-compliant intersection ramps, adding bump-outs for safer pedestrian crossing, and rebuilding certain stretches that have been compromised beneath the surface.
To engage the community and have their input heard, the City has made it known parking will be available in the Maroon Lot R2 at 10 W Clover Street, the meeting's details were outlined in a document made public on the City of Duluth website. At Chester Park Commons (Room 105), situated at 31 W College Street, residents can drop in anytime during the window of 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm.
A presentation will kick off promptly at 5:30 pm for those interested in a more detailed rundown of the plans, provided by the project's design team. For attendees arriving later, both city staff and design representatives will be on-site for the duration to field questions and catalog feedback.
