A woman from Duxbury has been convicted for her involvement in a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of a pedestrian. After a three-day deliberation by a Plymouth County jury, 43-year-old Kristina Blackmore was found guilty of Leaving the Scene of Injury Causing Death and Motor Vehicle Homicide by Negligent Operation, a statement from Plymouth District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz revealed.

The fatal accident took place on June 9, 2019, around 6:37 pm, when 46-year-old Andrea Gordon was struck by a vehicle while on Washington Street in Duxbury. Despite life-saving attempts by medical personnel, and emergency response from local police and fire departments, Gordon later died at South Shore Hospital, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office.

Through witness testimonies and collected evidence at the scene, investigators pinpointed a Dodge Ram pickup truck as the vehicle that hit Gordon. The truck, bearing damage consistent with the incident, was located at a Duxbury residence and led to Blackmore's arrest following the retrieval of an arrest warrant by the Massachusetts State Police.

Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Sprague led the prosecution of this case which, involved collaborative efforts from the Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office, the Duxbury Police, and the Massachusetts State Police Collision, Analysis and Reconstruction Section. Blackmore is due for sentencing tomorrow at 10 a.m. in Plymouth Superior Court.
