Early yesterday morning, a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle near the Las Vegas Speedway, sparking a Nevada State Police investigation. The fatal collision occurred on Las Vegas Boulevard, just north of the famed racing site, around 4 a.m., as reported by FOX5 Vegas.
At the scene of the tragedy, authorities found the pedestrian lifeless, and pronounced dead. The driver, however, remained until law enforcement arrived, an act affirming their presence in the somber aftermath. According to state troopers, initial findings suggest that impairment was not a contributing factor, this, according to News 3 Las Vegas. Nonetheless, they have continued their investigation to piece together the circumstances of the incident.
