Residents of East Kaua‘i now have extra time to weigh in on their community's future. The Planning Department announced an extension for its survey and online open house, which will provide critical input for the East Kaua‘i Community and Circulation Plan. Initially set to close, to ensure ample participation, planners have pushed the deadline to October 4, according to a press release from the County of Kaua'i.
Seeking to understand the pulse of the neighborhood, the Planning Department's effort is two-fold: offering an online open house and a survey that allows residents to express their concerns and desires for the district's growth and development. Enticing participants, upon completion, a lucky few will be entered to win one of two $50 gift cards, as reported by the County of Kaua'i.
This venture is part of a broader attempt to respect the County's General Plan, acknowledging that East Kaua‘i possesses its own set of challenges and potentials. By initiating these discussions, community members have the opportunity to influence decisions that will ripple through generations.
With inclusivity at the forefront, all East Side residents are urged to share their voice. No matter one's background or stake in the community, each perspective is vital in sculpting the East Kaua‘i district's trajectory, as per County of Kaua'i. To make the process accessible, if individuals require auxiliary aids or accommodations due to a disability, they should contact Marie Williams at the Planning Department, with requests made well in advance to secure the necessary provisions. Alternative formats like large print or Braille can also be obtained for this notice.
