
Travel along Mount Aukum Rd/E-16 near the North Fork Cosumnes River bridge and Happy Valley Cutoff Rd has resumed normal flow following earlier disruptions caused by a fire. The El Dorado County Fire Protection District reported that the incident, which included several travel trailers, vehicles, and a quarter-acre of wildland, has been contained. Firefighters were called to the scene just after 5 a.m., with the road reopening after several hours of closure to facilitate mop-up operations.
During the response, traffic was redirected to Bucks Bar Road as an alternative route. According to the El Dorado County Fire Protection District's Facebook page, the fire demanded extensive efforts from multiple agencies. Involved in the containment and traffic management were CAL FIRE Amador-El Dorado Unit, Diamond Springs El Dorado Fire Protection District, and Pioneer Fire Protection District, alongside the CHP - Placerville and El Dorado County Sheriff's Office.
No injuries have been reported as part of the incident and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The local community was kept informed throughout the ordeal via social media updates, ensuring that residents knew about the road closure and detour paths.
