
An elderly man was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle in Chicago's West Town neighborhood. The incident took place on Sunday evening in a parking lot located in the 900 block of North Ashland Avenue, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
The Chicago Police Department reported that the 78-year-old victim was walking through the parking lot at approximately 7:30 p.m. when he was hit by a beige SUV. The man sustained severe injuries from the collision. Following the incident, he was transported to Stroger Hospital where he was listed in critical condition, as noted by FOX 32 Chicago.
As of now, the driver of the SUV has not been issued any citations about the incident. The ongoing investigation is being handled by the Major Accident Investigation Unit of the Chicago Police Department, as per FOX 32 Chicago.
