The Elk Grove Police Department is actively seeking information that can lead to the capture of Hazel Shaver, a 44-year-old individual now facing multiple felony charges. According to the Elk Grove Police Department's recent Facebook post, Shaver is wanted for felony assault, among other crimes, following an incident involving the assault on a Baskin-Robbins/Togo's employee.

The said event took place on July 16, when Shaver, after ordering food, became disruptive and began chasing the employees around the establishment located on Laguna Boulevard. Throwing items around the floor, one worker was allegedly assaulted by Shaver in a moment of heightened agitation. The detectives, having conducted a thorough follow-up, were able to obtain a felony arrest warrant for Shaver on charges including "Battery causing bodily injury (Penal Code 243(d))," "Assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury (Penal Code 245(a)(4))," and "Vandalism (Penal Code 594(a))."

The urgency of locating Shaver is accentuated by the violent nature of the charges against her. The police mentioned that she may be in the Sacramento area but also noted her ties to Modesto and the Central Valley, hinting at a variable radius within which Shaver might be found. The Elk Grove Police Department is requesting that anyone with information about Shaver's whereabouts to reach out to their Investigations Bureau at (916) 478-8155 or contact Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP (4357). Sharing information through Crime Stoppers allows individuals the option to remain anonymous and possibly receive a reward of up to $1,000.00.

In their appeal to the public, the Elk Grove Police Department has also provided an SMS text message option for tips, highlighting the societal shift towards digital modes of communication.
