The city of Euless has just unwrapped its latest gift to the community with the completion of the extensive revamp of Wilshire Park, located at 315 Sierra Drive, the revamped park is welcoming visitors with its new range of amenities and features, promising a boost to local recreation and family outings. According to the City of Euless, the overhaul includes a nautical-themed playground that's sure to be a hit with kids looking to sail the high seas of imagination and a 600-square-foot picnic shelter where families can drop anchor for lunch.
The swath of improvements doesn't stop there, the city is beaming about the park's new restroom facility, additional picnic spots complete with three new tables and pads, and the practical addition of a new concrete trail that seamlessly connects with the existing path circling the pond; an accessible ramp to the fishing pier for those eager to cast a line is also part of the mix to ensure all visitors can enjoy what Wilshire has to offer, while the park's capacity to accommodate has been shored up with a new parking area fitted with lighting, boasting room for 23 vehicles.
Euless hasn't just upgraded the facilities – they've green-lighted 53 new shade trees to offer respite from the Texas sun, and to ensure the grass is always greener, a spanking new sod and irrigation system have been put down. The ribbon-cutting ceremony is on the calendar for August 9th, 8:30 AM, marking a new chapter for the park and those it serves.
"The City of Euless would like to thank everyone for their patience on this exciting project," says the City of Euless, reflecting a sentiment of communal accomplishment; with streets and neighborhoods likely buzzing about the renovated recreational haven that's sure to see high volumes of footfall as the news breaks and families, fitness enthusiasts and those simply seeking a patch of nature within the city limits, descend to check out the upgrades and make the most of the last lingering days of summer.
