Early yesterday morning, the Fairfield Police Department, alongside California Highway Patrol, responded to urgent calls about a woman on the Waterman Boulevard overpass, appearing to take dangerous steps towards self-harm. At approximately 7:25 am, multiple callers reported a distressing scene on the overpass of Waterman Boulevard above Interstate 80.

The authorities arrived promptly to discover a 57-year-old woman from Fairfield, who had already descended from the overpass when they got to the location. In what appears to be an attempt to jump, the woman was found injured on the ground, prompting immediate medical response.

She was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital. Despite the traumatic event and the injuries sustained, she is expected to recover, according to the Fairfield Police Department.
