Dallas Park and Recreation, in collaboration with the Dallas Public Library, is offering a series of free, family-friendly events at one of the city's most charming green spaces, City Park (or Old City Park for the nostalgically inclined). It's all happening at 1717 Gano Street, as per the City of Dallas.
City Park is not your typical patch of grass. It's steeped in history, spanning 20 acres with Victorian-era architecture that transports visitors back to 19th-century Texas. A visit promises more than just a stroll through the park. It's an educational journey into the past.
"Tell Your Family’s Story at City Park" offers a unique opportunity for those interested in personal history. On August 17, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the Dallas Public Library will have its mobile memory station available for you to take a photo and record an audio story, preserving your family's history in a meaningful way.
