Last night, a man was struck and killed by a vehicle in a hit-and-run incident on Joh Avenue over the I-95 bridge, authorities say. The Southern District patrol officers responded to the scene in the 1300 block around 11:45 p.m., following reports of a pedestrian-involved collision, as detailed by the Baltimore Police Department news release.
The adult male victim, whose identity has not been released, was walking northbound when he stepped off the sidewalk and into the street, where the accident occurred. According to Baltimore Police, the vehicle involved did not stop to render aid or wait for authorities but continued westbound on Joh Avenue, fleeing the scene.
After the medics arrived, they pronounced the victim dead at the location. Now, Crash Team detectives have taken up the investigation to piece together the details of the incident and search for the suspect. The department has not yet released the description of the offending vehicle.
