In a tragic string of events Wednesday night, a man lost his life on Highway 99 in Stanislaus County after being struck by multiple vehicles. The California Highway Patrol reported to KCRA that they were dispatched around 11:55 p.m. to the accident scene on the southbound lanes south of Taylor Road.
The incident began when, for reasons still not known, a man was sitting on the roadway and was hit by a vehicle. He was subsequently hit by several others cars. None of the vehicles involved have been identified by the police, and it remains unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in this crash. Aside from the fatal victim, no other injuries were reported, as stated by the California Highway Patrol.
