A tragic occurrence unfolded at the W Atlanta hotel in downtown Atlanta, where a man lost his life following a confrontation that escalated into gunfire. The incident, which police suspect to have been fueled by a love triangle, took place late Monday night on the hotel’s 26th floor residential area.
As reported by FOX 5 Atlanta, the police narrate that one man was departing from an apartment when, he bumped into the other man arriving by elevator. The encounter spiraled into violence in the hallway outside the apartment, where it is alleged that a firearm was drawn, and at least one shot fired. The man struck by the bullet, said to be in his 40s, succumbed to the injury at the scene.
Detectives remained on site to unravel the events leading to the man's death, while the other male involved was detained for interrogation. As of yet, the authorities haven't released the identities of the two men or the woman who is believed to be connected to the incident, as noted by the Atlanta Police Department.
11Alive states that the shooting took place shortly after 11:40 p.m., when a 44-year-old male was fatally shot. Upon arriving, officers discovered the victim, promptly pronounced dead from a gunshot wound. The individual detained has not been arrested as the, investigation continues and specifics of what prompted the deadly encounter are still being uncovered.
