A serious collision in the Aldine area has resulted in the death of a woman and the closure of a significant intersection yesterday. According to Click2Houston, the incident occurred at the crossroads of John F. Kennedy Blvd and Lauder Road.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the woman was transported to the hospital after the crash, but succumbed to her injuries. In the wake of the crash, the intersection has been closed to enable a thorough investigation by the authorities, in what has disrupted the flow of traffic and brought a somber mood to the area. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez informed FOX26 Houston of the closure, urging drivers to seek alternate routes.
The investigation into the fatal accident is currently underway, with law enforcement seeking to piece together the sequence of events that led to the tragedy. The identities of those involved have not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
Residents and commuters are being asked to avoid the area around John F. Kennedy Blvd and Lauder Road, as the investigation is expected to take several hours.
