Fernandez, with his extensive experience in military banking as the vice president at First National Bank Texas, is expected to bring valuable insights to the table.
Fernando Fernandez's qualifications extend beyond his banking role; he is actively involved in his community and well-versed in workforce and educational matters. As a board member of Workforce Solutions of Central Texas and the Killeen Independent School District Education Foundation, Fernandez showcases a commitment to both economic and educational development. Furthermore, his connections within the military community are solidified by his board position on the Association of the United States Army - Central Texas Chapter and membership in the Rotary Club of Killeen Heights.
Education forms a solid foundation for Fernandez’s extensive career as he received a Bachelor of Applied Arts from the University of the Incarnate Word. His firsthand military experience is unquestionable, having served in the United States Army for 21 years, until he retired in 2016 at Fort Cavazos. This appointment appears to align closely with Governor Abbott's intentions to deeply and continuously support military personnel and their valued presence in the state of Texas.
