The Fort Worth Police Department is currently accepting applications for Citizens Police Academy Class #63, a 12-week program geared towards demystifying the world of law enforcement for interested civilians.
According to the Fort Worth Police Department, the classes will run every Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m., kicking off on September 3rd and wrapping up on November 21st. Located at 1000 Calvert St. in Fort Worth, at the Fort Worth Police Investigative & Support Command Center, participants will have the opportunity to deeply understand, and even partake in some of the very activities that shape the everyday duties of a Fort Worth officer.
"The main objective and intent of the program is to familiarize and educate our community with the training, commitment, and dedication required of a Fort Worth Police Officer", the Fort Worth Police Department states. The department highlights the program's informative nature, designed to bridge the gap between the public and police through education and open communication.
