Four youths have been taken into custody following a reported robbery in Northeast Washington, D.C. The incident occurred early yesterday morning when, as police state, the suspects assaulted a person and forcibly took their possessions, according to a recent announcement by the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).
The victim encountered the suspects around 12:05 a.m. on the 600 block of 3rd Street, Northeast, and was able to quickly provide law enforcement with a detailed description. This allowed officers to promptly locate and arrest the individuals suspected shortly after the incident, found in the 900 block of 4th Street, Northeast. The prompt response displays a concerted effort to swiftly bring the perpetrators to justice.
Arrested were a 14-year-old male from Northwest, D.C., and three 16-year-old males—one from Northeast D.C., another from Northwest D.C., and one from Oxon Hill, MD. Each has been charged with Robbery (Force and Violence).
The identities of the youths have not been released, presumably due to their status as minors. More details on the case are expected to unfold as the investigation progresses.
