
After a commendable 25-year tenure with the Franklin Police Department, Lieutenant Eric Anderson has stepped down from duty, his departure marked by a ceremony on Friday afternoon surrounded by his family, friends, and fellow officers at police headquarters, according to a press release from the City of Franklin.
Anderson's career spanned various roles within the force, including patrol officer, detective, and manager of the Emergency Communications Center and the Records Division before his promotion to lieutenant in 2014 over the years Anderson cultivated an admirable legacy, he is departing leaving behind a heritage of professionalism and commitment at the Training Division where he'd been at the helm since 2016.
"I have benefitted greatly by being in the company of these colleagues. I'm grateful to have been allowed to serve the residents and visitors of the City of Franklin," Anderson told FranklinTN.gov. His career achievements were complemented by his academic pursuit which includes a bachelor's and a master's degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a master's degree in criminal justice administration from Middle Tennessee State University completed in 2020.
Franklin Police Chief Deb Faulkner praised Anderson's dedication, "I couldn't be prouder of everything Lieutenant Anderson has accomplished over the last two and a half decades," she said in part acknowledging the extensive span of his service which reflects both commitment and as an inspiration for peers and citizens alike, the department announces Anderson's successor, Lieutenant Clayton Cates who will take over the Training Division, as per the City of Franklin, TN.
