A free training session is on the horizon. The City of San Antonio’s Animal Care Services (ACS) Department has announced a free Puppy 101 course aimed at giving you the tools and techniques to effectively train and care for your pup, as stated in a recent news release.
The course is scheduled for Sunday, August 11, and will run from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Municipal Shelter, located at 4710 State Highway 151, right off Old Highway 90 close to the San Antonio Food Bank, and it's first come, first serve, no need to book a spot. Bringing in the experts, the ACS team of professional dog trainers will be leading the session.
However, the seminar, according to the ACS, is explicitly "or people only, so participants should leave their pups at home where they’re safe and sound. Over the course of the hour, several pivotal training topics will be covered. These include an overview of how puppies learn, the critical role that socialization plays in a young dog's life, tips for navigating the often challenging waters of potty training, and integrating crate training into your pup's daily routine – all fundamentals that can set the stage for a well-adjusted dog; attendees will be delving into these pillars of puppy training accompanied by the guidance of seasoned pros.
