The city's Duck Creek and Rowlett Creek facilities have both been recognized for their achievements in water quality management, aligning with their commitment to serving their communities and the broader water sector.
The Duck Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant stood out with a Gold Peak Performance Award, a recognition for its perfect adherence to Texas Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (TPDES) regulations throughout 2023. Meanwhile, Rowlett Creek didn't lag far behind, securing a Silver Peak Performance Award for recording no more than five permit exceedances last year, maintaining compliance with all TPDES permit requirements, according to the City of Garland.
