A 23-year-old Georgia man, Antonio Lamarr Foster, was taken into custody in Knoxville, facing multiple charges, including carjacking and child cruelty. The Knoxville Police Department (KPD) reported that Foster had been avoiding arrest for several serious offenses before being spotted and apprehended at a local Walmart.
During his arrest on Sunday evening, Foster fled from the authorities twice before he was finally captured, according to KPD. In a pursuit that ended inside the store, Foster collided with a display before being detained by police officers. Despite initially escaping their hold in the parking lot, he was ultimately secured and transported to jail. The WVLT detailed Foster's evasion from Georgia law enforcement where he faced charges for burglary, kidnapping, and other severe allegations.
KPD officers conducted a search on Foster and discovered seven blue pills, identified as alprazolam, and paraphernalia commonly associated with drug use. "A cut straw and a piece of foil with a burn mark on it," as found on Foster's person, are items known to be used for smoking this category of medication, according to WVLT. This search led to additional charges being brought against Foster, as WBIR highlighted.
The Knoxville Police also took to social media to commend the officers involved in the arrest. A post by the Knoxville Police TN on X read, "Last night, West District officers located and arrested wanted Antonio Foster at the Walmart on Clinton Highway." The department praised their efforts for contributing to the safety and wellbeing of the community by removing a violent offender from the streets.

The multiple warrants issued against Foster included charges for probation violation, from a previous aggravated assault charge and vandalism from a June incident on Barker Avenue. His evasion led to an additional charge after he tried to run from the police twice, according to KPD.
