Schertz residents, it's time to declutter your homes and take advantage of the annual Fall Clean Up service provided by the city. From October 12-27, the citizens of Schertz have the opportunity to dispose of household waste that doesn't fall under the regular collection service, according to the City of Schertz official website. This valuable service is designed to make your life a bit easier and cleaner but remember, it does not apply to commercial properties, large property clean-ups, or lot clearing.
Before you start to cart off your unwanted items, note that a current City of Schertz utility bill along with proper identification must be shown at the drop-off site. Republic Services is set to quickly process drop-offs at their temporary collection point, located at 125 Pecan Drive. Mark your calendars to drop your waste between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. But do keep in mind that hazardous items and tires can only be dropped off during the final weekend, October 26-27.
Wondering what you can and cannot bring? The Fall Clean Up flyer has all the details you need just a click away. From bulky waste like furniture and mattresses to yard debris and scrap metal, check the flyer to make sure you're not bringing in anything that's not accepted. Regrettably, commercial waste won't make the cut. Plan accordingly to avoid any disposal day disappointment.
