The Gilbert Police Department is currently investigating a hit-and-run incident that occurred on the night of August 10. A vehicle crashed into another car stopped at a sign at the intersection of Warner Road and Val Vista Drive around 11:40 p.m. The victim of the incident sustained minor injuries, as reported by FOX 10 Phoenix.
According to the victim's sister, Savannah Kermis, in a statement obtained by FOX 10 Phoenix, the suspect car hit Madyson Kermis's vehicle and fled the scene. "I think it's just like a complete lack of humanity and care for your fellow person," Savannah expressed. The incident left Madyson with bruises, but no broken bones. The driver responsible for the accident has not yet been located.
The local community's assistance is sought by the family in hopes of identifying the culprit. Savannah Kermis appealed to residents in the Rancho Cimarron and Finley Farms neighborhoods for any helpful information. "It's kind of hard to know if he just turned down that way to get out of the way, or if they were heading to a specific house in that neighborhood," she conveyed in an interview mentioned by Headtopics.
The Gilbert Police urge anyone with details about a white vehicle, believed to be a Honda Civic or similar, to come forward. No precise make or model has been confirmed, but neighbors who may possess camera footage or have seen a damaged car that fits the description are encouraged to contact the Gilbert Police at 480-503-6500.
