A Grand Terrace man has been taken into custody on charges related to the possession of child pornography following a cyber tip-off. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, 38-year-old Christopher Monroy was arrested after detectives investigating tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children carried out a search warrant at his residence on Thursday, August 22.

As part of Operation Online Guardian, a joint effort to sniff out and put an end to internet child sexual abuse material (CSAM), deputies from the Sheriff's Department, Central Station conducted the search that led to the discovery of incriminating evidence at Monroy's home the tips that initiated the investigation provided by NCMEC were crucial leading detectives straight to the source of the illegal content. Following the search, Monroy was booked for violation of PC 311.11, a law that calls for hefty penalties for those in possession of internet child pornography, and his bail is currently set at $30,000.00.
