A routine traffic stop by deputies in Harris County led to a foot chase and the apprehension of a suspect found with cocaine. According to Constable Mark Herman's Office, the incident took place in the 7600 block of FM 1960 Road West on Friday.

The law enforcement officials pulled over a vehicle driven by Dumitru Serbei. Upon interaction with the deputies, Serbei showed multiple signs of being under the influence. When prompted to exit his car, Serbei fled on foot, prompting a quick response from the deputies who then took him into custody. During the arrest, he was found to be in possession of 1.06 grams of cocaine, a controlled substance.

"Dumitru Serbei was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Evading Arrest and Detention and Possession of Controlled Substance. His total bond was set at $1,100.00 out of the 208th District Court and County Court 10," Constable Mark Herman said in an official release. Public records following the arrest indicate that the suspect is currently held in custody, awaiting further legal proceedings.
