Following a routine traffic stop on a stolen vehicle, Harris County law enforcement have taken a burglary suspect into custody. The incident unfolded on Friday when deputies working for Constable Mark Herman stopped a vehicle reported stolen. The vehicle was pulled over in the 19000 block of North Freeway, and on identification, the driver turned out to be Josiah Sommers, according to a Facebook post by Precinct 4.
It appeared, during the stop, that the vehicle Sommers was driving had been taken from an attached garage on Hardwood Grove Court. As is the procedure, deputies conducted an investigation that confirmed the vehicle's unlawful removal from the residence.
The repercussions for Sommers were immediate upon confirmation of the vehicle's status. "Josiah Sommers was arrested and charged with Burglary of a Habitation. His bond was set at $40,000.00 out of the 177th District Court." Constable Mark Herman recorded.
