
A months-long undercover investigation led to a significant drug bust at 21334 Campbell Drive, as reported by the Hernando County Sheriff's Office. Detectives executing a search warrant uncovered a hoard of illegal substances including fentanyl, methamphetamine in trafficking amounts, and marijuana in addition to two firearms and plenty of ammunition.
The investigation which culminated in the raid, involved multiple controlled purchases of methamphetamine from the residence. Sheriff Al Nienhuis stated, "The men and women of the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office remain committed to combatting illegal narcotics in our community." During the operation, detectives arrested two individuals, Hollie Eikenberry, and James Eric Batten, levying multiple drug-related charges against both, as reported by the Hernando County Sheriff's Office.
As detailed in the Sheriff's office release, Eikenberry faces charges including armed trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of fentanyl, and other narcotics, her bond set at $57,000. Batten, a convicted felon, confronts more severe charges that reflect his prior convictions, including armed trafficking, the unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, and the use of a two-way communication device to facilitate the sale of narcotics; his bond stands at $219,000. In total, the seizure yielded 82.2 grams of methamphetamine, an unspecified quantity of fentanyl, marijuana, two firearms, and 239 rounds of ammunition.
