
Tragedy struck late Sunday night when a pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Orlando. The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed the incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Colonial Drive and Good Homes Road in West Orange County, as reported by WFTV.
The unidentified pedestrian, having been hit by a vehicle, was urgently transported to Orlando Health - Health Central Hospital in Ocoee and, despite the best efforts of medical staff, succumbed to their injuries. The driver who struck the pedestrian left them behind, vanishing before troopers arrived. The authorities are now actively seeking the perpetrator who fled from the scene of this fatal encounter.
Following the accident, According to FOX 35 Orlando, all eastbound lanes alongside two westbound lanes of Colonial Drive were closed. These closures undoubtedly impacted early morning commuters as the investigation prompted a thorough examination of the site.
At this time, law enforcement officials have not released any description of the driver or the vehicle involved. The name of the deceased has also been kept from the public while the investigation is ongoing.
