On a quiet street in Homestead, a scene of tragedy unfolded when John Malcolm Smith, 25, allegedly shot and killed his mother and another man. According to WPXI, Smith had arrived at a Pittsburgh police station Wednesday evening, where he was taken into custody on multiple outstanding warrants.
SWAT teams responding to a call about shots fired at a residence on the 100 block of West 15th Avenue discovered the bodies of Antoinette Porterfield, Smith's mother, and John West. A witness account, as disclosed by the police, mentioned they heard Smith threatening his mother's life.
