A recent shooting at 12200 Bissonnet Street has led to the arrest of 23-year-old Roy Lee Herring, who is now facing murder charges for the death of Edgardo Alcantara Estrada, age 25. On the morning of June 26, Houston Police Department patrol officers arrived at the scene of a vehicular crash, discovering that Estrada had been shot while driving the vehicle came to rest after striking a building, this incident occurred near the intersection of Bissonnet Street, according to information provided by the HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Stroble and Detective K. Collier. Despite prompt medical attention provided by the Houston Fire Department paramedics, Estrada was pronounced dead at the site of the crash, as City of Houston reported.
The investigation into this violent act revealed only limited information initially, with descriptions of the suspect vehicle being sparse, citing it merely as a "dark-colored sedan," as stated on the same news release. However, thorough examination of the evidence gathered at the crime location ultimately led to the identification of Herring as the perpetrator responsible for Estrada's untimely demise.
