Early this morning, at approximately 2:25 a.m., a devastating vehicular incident took place on Durham Drive. The crash, as reported by City of Houston News, involved a Dodge Charger traveling in the wrong direction and a BMW I3.

Close to the 900 block of Durham Drive, the black Charger, heading northbound in the southbound lanes, collided head-on with the southbound BMW. In the Charger, traveling in a car going the wrong way on the road, was a 25-year-old male passenger who suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash. Officials have yet to release his identity, which is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

According to the Houston Police Department, the male driver of the BMW, age 58, was transported to an area hospital and is currently in stable condition. Meanwhile, the 24-year-old driver of the Charger refused medical assistance and did not require transportation. Staying at the scene, he cooperated with the authorities.

Sergeant C. Prejean of the HPD Vehicular Crimes Division and Central Patrol Division Officer J. Castrejon are conducting the ongoing investigation. As of now, per the latest updates from the City of Houston News, no charges have been filed in connection with the fatal incident.
