The Houston Police Department has made progress in an aggravated robbery case with the arrest of one suspect and the active search for the second. The crime occurred in a parking garage in the 3800 block of Richmond on June 12, as per the authorities.
Charges have been filed against the two men, identified as Joshua Drab, 19, and Nathan Ybarra, 20, who stand accused of the felony. While Drab remains at large, his accomplice, Ybarra, was taken by police into custody yesterday after being connected to another unrelated aggravated robbery and is currently held at the Harris County jail.
The incident involved a complainant being alerted to a break-in attempt on his truck. Upon his arrival, the man was confronted by the perpetrator, Drab, who brandished a handgun and threatened violence if the owner proceeded. "The suspects then got into two vehicles, a black four door sedan and a red Ford four-door sedan and fled the area," as reported by the Houston Police Robbery Division.
An officer recognized the suspects from a video released on the division's social media platforms on July 16. This ensured that a detective was informed and a follow-up investigation was conducted promptly. Identified by the complainant, the charges were brought against Drab and Ybarra on August 13.
Houston's community has been urged to assist in the apprehension of the still-wanted Drab. If anyone possesses relevant information, the Houston Police Department encourages reaching out to aid in their ongoing investigation.
