Officers arrived on the scene to discover a male victim, whose identity remains to be officially confirmed, lying on the sidewalk with at the very least one bullet wound. Unfortunately, medical responders could only pronounce him deceased right there on the harsh concrete. A second male, age 40, managed to quickly be transported to an area hospital; his injuries are described as non-life-threatening.
The area of 10401 West Bellfort Avenue, became the center of a homicide investigation as detectives C. Sharp and E. May of the HPD Homicide Division took charge. The details around the shooting remain scarce as authorities have not yet disclosed a motive or identified any suspects.
