Houston authorities are in the midst of an investigation following the death of a man from a shooting incident on Loper Street over the weekend. According to the City of Houston News, the shooting took place around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday at 611 Loper Street. The man, who is believed to be in his 30s, has yet to be identified as officials await verification from the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD's Homicide Division Detectives M. Hughey and L. Lovelace arrived at the scene, responding to a call and discovered the unresponsive victim bearing multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased by paramedics from the Houston Fire Department who, having been called to the address, attended the scene. It seems the man may have engaged with suspicious person(s) in his vicinity before sustaining the fatal shots.
As of now, details on the potential suspect are scarce, with no descriptions available. Houston police are calling upon the community to step forward with any information. "Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or speak anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS," the City of Houston reported.
