The Houston Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in identifying a suspect connected to a fatal shooting that took place earlier this year on January 16. The incident occurred at approximately 8:25 p.m. at 1415 South Loop West, a location along the South Interstate Highway 610 West. Surveillance photos of the individual suspected of involvement in the crime have been released, featuring the man in a black jacket, blue sweatpants, black shoes, and a black mask. Responding to the shooting call, Houston police arrived at the scene and found a man, Naseli Samuel Leon Okha, 40, with multiple gunshot wounds. Together with the Houston Fire Department paramedics, they pronounced Mr. Okha deceased at the scene, wearing a black mask and armed with a weapon, the suspect's surveillance imagery was located by investigators.
Another victim, a 36-year-old male, also sustained gunshot injuries during the event and was promptly transported to an area hospital where he is reported to have incurred non-life-threatening wounds. Detectives C. Davidson and L. Brooks of the HPD Homicide Division are spearheading the investigation into the crime.
The police are actively pursuing leads and request that anyone with information concerning the suspect's identity or any details pertaining to the case should immediately contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600. Alternatively, individuals may choose to remain anonymous and could provide information to Crime Stoppers by calling 713-222-TIPS. "Investigators located surveillance images of the suspect, armed with a weapon," as described in a statement obtained by the City of Houston's news release.
