
Authorities are on the hunt for Oscar Daniel Vega Espinoza, 34, charged with murder and tampering with evidence relating to an apparent fatal stabbing of a woman near 8200 Hockley Street on August 17. The charges are filed in the 337th State District Court, according to the City of Houston News. A photo accompanying a July booking of Vega Espinoza has been released, yet he remains at large.
Local authorities responded to a distressing scene where a body, with signs of trauma suggestive of stab wounds, was discovered in the water by the Brays Bayou Greenway Trail. The victim, still pending identification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, was 30 years old. Insights gleaned during the investigation pointed to Vega Espinoza, the victim’s ex-boyfriend, as the prime suspect.
"The victim’s body was found in the water near the embankment of the Brays Bayou Greenway Trail at the above address. The body had signs of trauma, indicative of a stab wound(s)," remarked the original statement. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Roberts and Detective J. Wallschlaeger have been leading the investigation and the charges brought against Vega Espinoza.
