A student from Marshall Middle School, part of the Houston Independent School District (HISD), was taken to the hospital following a medical emergency that occurred yesterday. The distressing event, which took place in the campus located in Houston's Near Northside, was said to be witnessed by a significant number of students and staff, as reported by the Houston Chronicle.
The immediate response was primarily facilitated by those who were present. HISD has not released additional information regarding the student's condition, however, they acknowledged the incident's impact on the school community. “Today was a very difficult day for the Marshall MS community. A student at Marshall Middle School suffered a medical emergency on campus today. EMS responded to the school quickly and the student was transported to the hospital. The student’s parents were quickly notified and responded to the school," HISD conveyed in a statement obtained by KHOU.
Assistance for the school community aims to provide a sustained support network for both staff and students in the subsequent days. "The district will work with campus leadership to support the family and the entire campus community in the days to come," HISD said, as noted by the Houston Chronicle. The district has not yet revealed the details of the medical emergency.
