
A tragic incident unfolded on the streets of Houston Wednesday afternoon, as a man lost his life when his vehicle collided with a tree and subsequently caught fire. As reported by the City of Houston, the crash happened at 12400 Briar Forest Drive around 1:20 p.m.
Driving a silver Porsche Macan, the man, whose name has yet to be released pending the verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, was traveling at a high rate of speed. On the median, he hit the tree, and in the flames that ensued, his life was claimed. A 21-year-old male passenger survived the crash with injuries deemed not life-threatening and was promptly transported to a nearby hospital.
The investigation into this fatal event is actively being conducted by the HPD Vehicular Crimes Division with Sergeant F. Briones and Officer K. Stout taking the lead. No other vehicles were caught up in this harrowing incident, and no pedestrians were reported hurt in the aftermath. The investigation continues.
