Tragedy struck in the 14000 block of Ella Blvd as deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office were called to a major crash scene. The driver, identified as Yeimi Serrano, was involved in a disturbing incident yesterday involving her 14-year-old brother. According to the report given by Constable Herman, the young boy suffered an injury to his ankle while hanging from the rear of a moving U-HAUL van, which Serrano was backing up.
In an attempt to reverse the van, Serrano unintentionally caused the van to collide with an unoccupied parked vehicle. Meanwhile, her brother was caught between both vehicles during the incident, resulting in an injury to his right ankle. This grievous oversight led to Serrano's arrest and she now faces charges for her actions.
An official statement by Constable Mark Herman declared, "Yeimi Serrano was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Injury to a Child. Her bond and court information have not been set at this time."
