On Thursday afternoon, U.S. Marshals made a decisive move in Williamson County, apprehending 35-year-old Jackie Selby Jr. of Hutto on charges relating to indecency with a child. Operating as part of the U.S. Marshals-led Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, the arrest followed an incident that reportedly took place back in February 2023 where Selby Jr. was accused of inappropriate conduct in the presence of minors.
According to information provided by the U.S. Marshals and Hutto Police Department, the felony charges stem from an event on February 19, 2023, where Selby Jr. was allegedly observed engaging in lewd behavior at the 300 block of Arnage Drive KXAN reported. The authorities investigated and, discovered that two juveniles were victimized in separate incidents.
The marshals' intervention was a response to a call for assistance from Hutto Police after it came to light that Selby Jr. also had a pending warrant in Travis County linked to a bond forfeiture on an original sex offense charge, as detailed in a report by FOX 7 Austin.
The arrest of Selby Jr. unfolded in Round Rock on July 30, when members of the task force located him hiding under a shed behind a private residence in the 17400 block of Toyahville Trail. Despite the effort to evade law enforcement, Selby Jr. was detained without incident and booked into the Williamson County Jail to await further proceedings, his attempt at concealment all for naught.
