
Maitland residents in the Dommerich Hills neighborhood can expect some significant infrastructure developments starting next month. According to an announcement on the city's official website, the construction crews are already hard at work installing new sewer pipelines along parts of Tuscarora Trail and Chinook Trail, which are currently out of bounds for vehicle traffic west of Nicoma Trail. This construction is poised to move northward, targeting Mohawk Trail soon.
But it's not just old roads getting a facelift—September is set to mark the commencement of another construction site. Pipeline installation will begin along sections of Chinook Trail and Huron Trail, stretching between Ponca Trail and Kewannee Trail. The local municipality has promised that residents impacted by upcoming road closures will receive notifications in advance.
A need to connect 430 homes in Maitland’s central sewer system. This upgrade aims to replace less reliable and environmentally problematic residential septic tanks. According to the city's update, this infrastructure overhaul isn’t just about what goes on underground. Aboveground improvements include resurfacing roadways and constructing new sidewalks along some streets, enhancing the neighborhood's livability and walkability.
